Liverpool Prepare First Bid for Bradley Barcola
Liverpool are moving from admiration to action over Bradley Barcola, with the club preparing an opening offer for the Paris Saint-Germain forward after talks with his representatives.
The 23-year-old has emerged as a priority target as Liverpool push to add a top-level winger to Andoni Iraola’s squad before the new season. The plan had initially included Yan Diomande, but that avenue has closed: the RB Leipzig winger is now set for Real Madrid after PSG withdrew from a proposed deal, reshaping the market at the top end of European football.
That shift has thrown Barcola into sharper focus. PSG have placed a staggering valuation of around £145m on the France international, a fee that would set a new British transfer record. Barcola has two years remaining on his contract with the European champions but is understood to have rejected an extension, having slipped down the pecking order in Luis Enrique’s richly stocked attack.
Liverpool have spent recent weeks quietly testing the waters, sounding out whether Barcola would be willing to swap Paris for Anfield. Those conversations have brought encouragement: the winger is believed to be open to a move to the Premier League.
The Merseyside club are now expected to formalise their interest with a bid in the coming days. The size of that first offer, and how close it comes to PSG’s asking price, will define the next phase of the saga. Liverpool want Barcola to be their statement signing of the summer. PSG, for now, are pricing him like one.
