Femi Azeez Transfer: Millwall Sets £15m Price Tag for Brighton

Millwall have slapped a £15m price tag on winger Femi Azeez as Brighton push to get a deal done before the transfer window closes.

The south-coast club, whose interest first emerged via BBC Sport, have already tested Millwall’s resolve twice in recent weeks with offers totalling just over £10m. Both bids have been turned away. For now, the gap remains a stubborn £5m.

Azeez is understood to be keen on the move to the Amex Stadium. The chance to jump from the Championship to the Premier League, to a club that has built a reputation on developing attacking talent, is a clear draw for the Nigeria international.

Millwall’s stance is equally clear. Meet the valuation, and they will not stand in his way. Fall short, and he stays in south London.

The situation has already left its mark on team selection. Azeez has been omitted from Millwall’s last three matches, a striking call given his output last season: 11 goals and 11 assists in 35 league games, form that earned him a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

It underlines just how far his stock has risen since Millwall picked him up from Reading in 2024 for around £1m. That deal now looks like one of the Championship’s smartest pieces of business, with the 23-year-old (now into the final 24 months of his contract) attracting top-flight attention and a potential fifteen-fold profit on the table.

Wrexham, ambitious and upwardly mobile in the Championship, are also believed to have shown interest. Yet Azeez’s priority is a Premier League move, and Brighton see him as one of their leading targets heading into Tuesday’s deadline.

The clock is ticking. Either Brighton bridge that £5m gap, or Millwall hold their nerve and keep one of the division’s most productive wide men for at least a little longer.
