Bradley Barcola Joins Liverpool: A New Era Begins

Bradley Barcola has completed his move to Liverpool, signing a long-term deal at the AXA Training Centre after passing his medical and finalising the transfer.

The French forward, who will wear the No.29 shirt, spoke of the scale of the step in his career and the weight of the shirt he is inheriting.

"It's a great pride to be able to play for Liverpool. I'm very happy," he told Liverpoolfc.com. "It took a long time but I'm really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.

"I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League – it's one of my biggest dreams in my life.

"It is to do that and to stay in this team in the long term – that's why I signed a long contract – and I hope I can do it."

A serial winner arrives

Barcola lands on Merseyside with serious pedigree and the kind of versatility Liverpool crave in their front line. Comfortable across all attacking positions, he comes off a three-year spell with PSG in which he grew from promising prospect into established star.

At Parc des Princes he racked up 152 appearances, scoring 39 goals and supplying 35 assists. The numbers tell only part of the story. He played his part in a dominant era, collecting back-to-back Champions League titles and three straight Ligue 1 crowns, arriving at Anfield already conditioned to the demands of a club expected to win every year.

From Lyon to the elite

His rise began at Olympique Lyonnais, where he made his senior debut in November 2021. Lyon gave him his first real platform; Barcola responded with seven goals and 11 assists in 47 outings, form that convinced PSG to bring him in during August 2023.

The step up did not blunt his impact. Instead, it sharpened him for the highest level – experience Liverpool will expect to translate quickly to the Premier League.

France’s new attacking weapon

Barcola’s progress has been just as rapid on the international stage. Since making his France debut in June 2024, he has already amassed 28 caps and scored six goals.

Three of those came at this summer’s World Cup, where he featured in every game of France’s run to a fourth-placed finish. Trusted on the biggest stage, he now arrives at another club where the spotlight never really switches off.
