Inter’s season of dominance collected its latest seal of approval at the Gran Gala del Calcio, with the Nerazzurri named Serie A Club of the Year and Federico Dimarco walking away as the league’s Player of the Year.

“Receiving an award like this is unique,” Dimarco said, before immediately setting himself a new target. “Last year I set the assist record, and this season I want to improve even further.”

“My breakthrough? It all started after the lost Champions League final against PSG, which pushed us to give our absolute maximum,” he explained. That pain, he suggested, hardened both him and the squad, turning disappointment into fuel.

For Dimarco, the celebration came with a hint of frustration. While his status on the pitch has never been higher, his future off it is still unresolved.

“Renewal? Unfortunately, we haven’t spoken about it,” he admitted. “I hoped it would happen after last season’s performance.”

No talks yet with Inter’s hierarchy, despite his transformation into one of the side’s most decisive players. On a night built to celebrate him, the reminder was clear: there is still business to be done.

Dimarco didn’t linger on the contract issue. His gaze quickly shifted back to the pitch and a fixture that has become a sore point.

“Now I want to remain focused on the match against Napoli,” he said. “We haven’t been able to win against them for too long.”
