Carrarese Sign Colin Dagba on Free Transfer Until 2029

Carrarese have moved decisively in the market, snapping up former PSG full-back Colin Dagba on a free and tying him down to a long-term deal that could run until 2029.

The 27-year-old arrives after his contract with Belgian side Beerschot expired on July 1 and has signed with the Serie B club until June 30, 2028. Built into that agreement is an automatic extension clause, triggered if he hits specific performance targets. For a player who once patrolled the right flank at the Parc des Princes, it is a reset, and a clear bet from Carrarese that he can relaunch his career in Italy.

The club did not hide their excitement in the official announcement, underlining both his pedigree and profile. They highlighted the “attacking ability, pace, and prowess in attacking play” of the French right-back, born in 1998, and stressed that his contribution goes far beyond overlapping runs and crosses.

Carrarese were just as keen to emphasise his reliability without the ball, describing Dagba as “consistently alert and consistent in defense, especially in marking.” For a side searching for stability at the back, that line reads like a mission statement.

Dagba’s CV backs up the fanfare. He made 77 senior appearances for PSG across all competitions, including seven outings in the Champions League. During his spell in Paris he collected three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies and two Trophee des Champions wins, before heading out on loan to Strasbourg and Auxerre in search of regular minutes.

Now that experience lands in Tuscany, where Gabriele Cioffi’s squad badly needs a lift. Carrarese sit 14th in the Serie B table with just one point from their opening two fixtures, already feeling the weight of a slow start.
