Swansea City Striker Ross Stewart Out with Quad Injury

Swansea City’s wait to properly unleash Ross Stewart will go on, with the Scotland striker set to miss the club’s next four matches because of a quad injury.

The 30-year-old sat out Tuesday’s Championship win over Watford, having already missed last Saturday’s victory at Derby County. His Swansea career has barely started: just one outing so far, a brief substitute appearance in the goalless draw with Sheffield United 11 days ago, since signing a three-year deal last month.

Now comes another pause.

Stewart is expected to be unavailable for Saturday’s home clash with Wrexham, the trip to former club Southampton next Tuesday, and further fixtures against Burnley and Lincoln City before the international break at the end of the month.

“Ross had a soft tissue injury, not massive, but probably he can return in the international break,” head coach Vitor Matos said, offering a cautious timeline rather than instant relief.

For Swansea, it means another spell relying on the forwards already carrying the load, while a proven Championship striker watches from the sidelines, waiting for his season – and his Swansea story – to truly begin.
