Hull City close in on £22m Tim Iroegbunam signing

Hull City are set to make Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam their latest statement signing in a deal that could reach £22m, on a deadline day already twisting around Everton’s squad.

The 23-year-old is poised to swap Hill Dickinson Stadium for East Yorkshire after the clubs agreed a package worth an initial £13m, rising by a further £9m in add-ons. He has been granted permission to undergo a medical as Hull race to complete a flurry of late business.

Iroegbunam only joined Everton from Aston Villa in 2024 for £9m. Twelve months on, he is on the move again, this time to become Hull’s 13th signing of a remarkably busy summer. The Championship club are still not done: talks continue over a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo as they push to reshape the squad before the window slams shut on Tuesday night.

Man City strike £65m deal for Ndiaye

Manchester City have agreed a deal worth up to £65m to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, turning the Senegal international into one of the headline moves of the window.

City will pay £60m up front with a possible £5m in add-ons for the 26-year-old winger, who has attracted heavy interest across the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur thought they were in pole position. They reached an agreement with Everton on Friday night for Ndiaye in a separate deal that was expected to be linked to Richarlison’s return to Merseyside.

Then the move stalled. Sources indicate Richarlison failed to agree personal terms with his former club, despite Everton tabling a £35m offer for the Brazil forward. With no breakthrough, Spurs have been unable to push through the Ndiaye transfer, leaving City to swoop and close in on another high-profile attacking option.

Transfer window ticking down

For Premier League and EFL clubs, the summer transfer window shuts at 23:00 BST on Tuesday. The window, which reopened for a second spell on Monday 15 June, must stay within Fifa’s 16-week annual limit.

Last season, the English window closed at 19:00 to mirror the traditional working day. This year, it has reverted to the late 23:00 finish that so often invites chaos.

Across Europe, the cut-off times vary but the tension is the same. Clubs in Spain, France and Italy also close business on Tuesday, though earlier in the evening. In the Bundesliga, deals must be done by 19:00.

Scotland runs on a different clock. Clubs north of the border have until 17:00 on Thursday, 3 September to complete signings, the same deadline that applies to Women’s Super League sides.

Everton full-back Aznou heads to Malaga

Amid the bigger numbers and headline fees, Everton have also moved on a young defender looking for minutes.

Left-back Adam Aznou has joined La Liga side Malaga on loan for the 2026-27 season. The 20-year-old arrived at Goodison Park from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2025 but managed only two senior outings last term, one each in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

The move marks a return to Spain for Aznou, who came through Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy before switching to Munich in 2023. Now he gets a fresh chance to build his career in a league he knows.

Hutchinson swaps Forest for Milan loan

On the continent, AC Milan have turned to the Premier League again.

The seven-time European champions have taken Omari Hutchinson on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent next summer.

Hutchinson joined Forest only a year ago in a £37.5m transfer from Ipswich Town, but his first campaign at the City Ground never truly settled. He made 17 Premier League starts under four different managers, a turbulent backdrop for any forward trying to establish himself.

Now he steps into the glare of San Siro, with Milan holding the keys to a potential long-term stay.

Man City land Palmeiras winger Allan

While one major City deal nears completion with Ndiaye, another has already been wrapped up.

Manchester City have signed Brazilian winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a transfer worth up to £34.2m. The Premier League champions will pay £32m initially, with a further £2.2m in potential add-ons, and have tied the 22-year-old to a five-year contract.

Allan arrives as a direct replacement for compatriot Savio, who sealed a £75m move to Tottenham Hotspur last week. A right-sided attacker, Allan came through the Palmeiras youth system and recorded nine goals and 12 assists in 96 senior appearances for the Brazilian club.

Forest reunite Munoz with Glasner

Nottingham Forest’s rebuild continues at pace.

The club have completed the £22m signing of Colombia right-back Daniel Munoz from Crystal Palace, reuniting him with Oliver Glasner at the City Ground. The pair celebrated both the FA Cup and the Conference League together during their time at Selhurst Park.

Munoz, who has agreed a three-year deal, spent the last two and a half years with Palace, scoring 11 goals in 109 appearances from defence. He follows the £50m club-record arrival of Liam Delap and could be thrown straight in for a Premier League debut against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
