Amorim Targets Manchester United's Leny Yoro for AC Milan

Ruben Amorim, the new head coach of AC Milan, is reportedly interested in signing Manchester United defender Leny Yoro before the summer transfer window closes. The Portuguese manager, who recently took charge at the San Siro, is said to want to reunite with the young French defender, who has had a difficult time settling at Old Trafford.

Defensive Reinforcement on Amorim’s Agenda

According to Tuttosport, Amorim is actively exploring the option of bringing Yoro to AC Milan. On Saturday, he held an extensive five-hour meeting with club directors Hendrik Almstadt and Bobby Gardiner to finalize transfer targets ahead of the deadline.

Yoro, aged 20, has struggled to find consistent form and fitness since his £52 million move from Lille two years ago. An ankle injury in his debut season slowed his progress, and he has mostly been on the fringes under interim coach Michael Carrick.

Uncertain Future at Manchester United

Yoro’s current role at United has been under scrutiny, especially after being an unused substitute during the opening day defeat to Hull City. He did make a brief appearance against Ipswich Town, coming on as a substitute in the 73rd minute for Diogo Dalot, but he seems to have dropped in the pecking order.

He also mentioned how teammates built up the excitement of competing in the Champions League: "The other lads have spoken about when you train with the Champions League ball and hear the music of the Champions League, it’s just a different atmosphere from the league. We play against different clubs from all over the world, so [they have spoken to me] about the atmosphere and the magic of this competition."

AC Milan have been very active in the transfer market, spending over £128 million this summer. The club is focusing on strengthening three areas before the window shuts on Tuesday:
