Estevao Focuses on Work and Faith Amid Limited Chelsea Minutes

Estevao is not interested in the noise around his slow start at Chelsea. The Brazilian forward insists his focus is fixed on one thing: making the most of every minute he gets.

The 19-year-old is still waiting for his first Premier League start of the season and has been limited to just 27 minutes from the bench. For a teenager hyped as one of Brazil’s brightest prospects, it is hardly the explosive launch many expected in England.

Yet while his club role remains limited, his international standing has not suffered. Estevao has been recalled to the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break, a clear sign that his national team coaches still trust his talent and trajectory.

Asked about life under Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso, the forward kept his answer grounded in routine and responsibility rather than frustration.

“Every coach has their own way of playing,” he said when pressed on Alonso’s approach. “And of course, we work hard every day and give our best every single day. So that's what I do.”

He knows the competition around him is fierce. Chelsea’s attacking options are stacked, and breaking into the starting XI is no simple task.

“We have players of extreme quality at Chelsea,” Estevao pointed out. “So what I do is focus on what I can, on what I can control. I try to give my best in training, and when I get the opportunity, I always give my best, and that goes day after day.”

The message is consistent: he will not be dragged into a debate about minutes or selection. He prefers to talk about seizing chances rather than counting them.

“So, in all the opportunities that I get, and that I've had, I think I've seized a lot of those, taken on a lot of those responsibilities,” he said, backing his impact in the brief cameos he has been given.

For now, Estevao leans on faith and patience as much as on his left foot.

“So I try to control what I can, leave tomorrow in God's hands, and trust in my work,” he concluded — a line that sounds less like a complaint and more like a quiet warning that he plans to be ready when Chelsea finally call his name from the start.
