Rafael Leao Responds to Claims of Being a Negative Influence

Rafael Leao has publicly slapped down a claim that new Milan coach Ruben Amorim considers him a “negative influence” in the dressing room, accusing the report of being a lie.

The Portugal forward, usually quiet on X, broke his habit when he spotted a post repeating a line originally attributed to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The story suggested Amorim views Leao as a disruptive presence in the Milan squad and is worried about his impact on the dressing-room atmosphere.

Leao didn’t let it slide. He replied directly: “Maybe because you are lying”, adding three laughing-face emojis to underline his contempt for the claim.

The 25-year-old is absent from today’s friendly against Manchester United, but his omission is down to a minor injury, not any disciplinary issue or clash with the new coach.

Transfer Market Situation

Off the pitch, his future remains wide open. Milan and Leao have spent the summer listening for serious offers, but only modest bids have arrived so far, all from Turkey: Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce have tested the water.

None of those proposals have come close to Milan’s initial valuation of 50 million euros plus 10 million in add-ons. The stance at Casa Milan is softening. The Rossoneri are now prepared to lower the bar and could sanction a sale for around 40 million euros.

For a player of Leao’s talent and profile, that price tag will not go unnoticed.
