Player Ratings: Palace vs Manchester City

Dean Henderson – 7
No chance with either of Manchester City’s goals but reminded everyone of his pedigree. Produced a sharp stop early on to deny Anderson, then stood up well to efforts from Semenyo and Cherki. Without him, this could have been far uglier.

Jaydee Convot – 6
Kept things tidy on his flank and rarely lost concentration, yet found himself exposed once Cherki began to drift and dictate. Not directly at fault, but unable to stem the tide.

Chris Richards – 6
Threw himself into the duel with Haaland and refused to back down, yet the outcome of that contest felt inevitable. Should have done better with a first-half header that he planted off target.

Takehiro Tomiyasu – 6
Brought a calm head and sound positioning to the back line. Read danger well and rarely panicked, the kind of steadying influence Palace will lean on as the season wears on.

Anan Khalaili – 6
Full of running, never stopped offering himself, and snapped into challenges. The problem came in the final third, where his decision-making and delivery couldn’t match his industry.

Daichi Kamada – 5
Buzzed around the midfield as he usually does, always showing for the ball, but City’s control meant he never quite grabbed the game. Struggled to impose his rhythm against superior numbers and movement.

Adam Wharton – 7
The standout outfield player for Palace. Showed real class on the ball, mixing composure with incisive passing and a superb range of distribution. Orchestrated most of Palace’s brighter passages before City’s pressure eventually smothered him.

Tyrick Mitchell – 6
Aggressive, quick across the turf and committed in the tackle. Got himself into a prime position to level with a first-half header, only to waste it. That moment lingered over his performance.

Eddie Nketiah – 5
Started sharply, forcing an early save from Donnarumma and stretching City’s back line with his movement. Once the tempo dipped, so did his influence, and he squandered a huge chance early in the second half.

Yeremy Pino – 6
Unpredictable but dangerous. Drifted in and out of the contest, yet when he stepped up over a dead ball he delivered, his superb free-kick forcing the Donnarumma own goal. A reminder of the threat he carries.

Jorgen Strand Larsen – 5
Worked tirelessly, chased lost causes and tried to occupy Dias, but rarely got the better of the physical contest. Spurned a decent opening before the interval and never really recovered from that miss.
