According to The Sun, Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Benfica and Porto are all monitoring Seys, with the English trio already taking concrete steps.

“SunSport understands that Man Utd, Arsenal and Aston Villa have all submitted enquiries as to Seys' availability following extensive scouting,” the outlet reported.

Newcastle’s interest, by contrast, appears to be at an earlier stage. There is no mention of a formal enquiry from St. James’ Park, even as the club’s need at full-back grows more acute by the week.

Rising star with World Cup pedigree

Seys has not come out of nowhere.

Last season he forced his way into the Club Brugge XI and stayed there, making 25 league appearances and adding nine more in the Champions League. That level of exposure, at that age, has pushed him firmly onto the radar of Europe’s elite.

His progress carried him all the way to the World Cup this summer. The young defender earned a place in Belgium’s squad and featured in their quarterfinal defeat to eventual champions Spain. For a 21-year-old full-back, that is the kind of stage that changes a career — and inflates a price tag.

A costly solution to a growing problem

Club Brugge know exactly what they have.

Seys is under contract for another three years, and, according to The Sun, the Belgian club is under no pressure to sell. Any buyer will have to pay a premium.

“Club Brugge are not in a hurry to sell, with three years remaining on Seys' contract. And the Belgian side are set to demand €35million (£30m) for their rising star,” the report stated.

For Newcastle, that figure would represent a serious outlay on yet another young talent at a time when experience in the back line is thin.

Full-back crisis sharpening decisions

Jaissle’s options are shrinking.

Lewis Hall is not for sale, despite interest from Manchester United, and Newcastle are standing firm on that stance. Tino Livramento, meanwhile, is sidelined after suffering an injury on the verge of the World Cup, stripping away another senior option in wide defensive areas.

That combination leaves Newcastle light where it matters most, turning the full-back search from long-term planning into a short-term necessity.

Seys would add energy, upside and competition at left-back. He fits the profile of the club’s recent recruitment: young, talented, with resale value and room to grow. But at €35 million (£30 million), he also forces a bigger question on the recruitment team.
