Manchester United Signs Sweden Winger Monica Jusu Bah

Manchester United are closing in on another major piece of their rebuild, having agreed terms to sign Sweden winger Monica Jusu Bah from BK Hacken.

The 23-year-old is expected to complete her move before next Thursday’s Women’s Super League transfer deadline, with only final formalities left before she swaps Sweden for England.

United will have to pay a fee to prise her away. Jusu Bah signed a contract extension with BK Hacken in September 2025, tying her to the Swedish club until 2028, and the exact figure remains undisclosed. What is clear is that United are investing in a player entering her peak years.

Jusu Bah has spent her entire career in Sweden, first breaking through at Umea before earning her move to BK Hacken in 2023. Her rise has been steady rather than explosive, but this year pushed her firmly into the European spotlight.

In May, she helped BK Hacken lift the inaugural Women’s Europa Cup, a landmark moment for the club and a showcase for her on the continental stage.

Her form at club level has translated to the national team. Jusu Bah has already made 11 appearances for Sweden and featured in all six of their Women’s World Cup qualifying matches this year, underlining her status as a regular part of the squad rather than a fringe option.

United are not done yet. The club are understood to be targeting at least one more signing before next week’s deadline as they continue to reshape the squad.

The move for Jusu Bah follows the arrivals of defender Andrea Medina from Atletico Madrid and goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City, signalling a clear intent to strengthen all areas of the pitch before the season’s decisive stretch.
