Deportivo A Coruna have completed the signing of Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado on a season-long loan, including an option to purchase at the end of the term. The 22-year-old joins the Riazor side aiming to secure consistent first-team football after a decorated spell at Barcelona.

The Galician club confirmed the loan agreement officially, while transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Deportivo holds the right to buy Casado permanently for €30 million (£26m/$35m) after this season. Casado seeks more playing time after progressing through Barcelona's famed La Masia academy and making 75 senior appearances for the Catalan club.

Casado leaves Camp Nou after falling behind in the midfield pecking order behind key players like Rodri, Frenkie de Jong, and Marc Bernal. Throughout his time at Barcelona, he made 75 senior appearances and earned two caps for Spain’s national team, playing effectively both as a defensive midfielder and at right-back.

His experience includes 49 La Liga matches and 19 Champions League games, qualities that will bolster Deportivo's squad as they navigate the current season.
