Crystal Palace Signs Axel Disasi on Loan from Chelsea

Crystal Palace have moved to bolster their defence with the loan signing of France international Axel Disasi from Chelsea.

The 28-year-old centre back arrives at Selhurst Park after a stop-start spell at Stamford Bridge, where he made 61 appearances following his move from Monaco in 2023. Chelsea have opted to send him out again after last season’s loan to West Ham United, where he featured 14 times in the Premier League.

Disasi, who was part of the France squad that reached the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar, spoke with clear conviction about the switch.

"I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going," he said in a statement.

For Palace, it is a statement move: a seasoned defender with European pedigree and recent Premier League minutes, dropping into a back line that has been quietly reshaped over recent windows.
