Alejandro Balde has entered a make-or-break stretch at Barcelona. Four months to convince Hansi Flick he belongs. Or four months to play his way out of the club.

The summer told its own story. Barça were open to a sale, Manchester United sounded out as a possible destination, and a move looked entirely plausible. It never happened. No agreement, no transfer, and the 22-year-old stayed put at Camp Nou with one last window of opportunity.

Flick wants more – and Balde knows it
