Vinicius Jr Confident Real Madrid Will Claim 16th Champions League Title, Highlights Key Challenge Against Inter

Vinicius Jr Predicts Real Madrid's 16th Champions League Victory

Vinicius Jr has boldly declared that Real Madrid will secure their 16th Champions League title this season, despite the club's recent exits in knockout rounds. The Brazilian forward is convinced the trophy is set to return to the Santiago Bernabeu after back-to-back quarter-final losses to Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

Strong Confidence Ahead of European Campaign

Speaking to the club’s official media, Vinicius expressed firm belief in the squad's potential. He said, “Hopefully the 16th will come. We're ready for that. It’s our competition. We haven’t done well in it for the last two years. Our first objective is to finish among the top eight. We’re always excited about the Champions League. This season will be different from the last two campaigns and we’re going to win it.”

Challenging Tactical Battle Against Inter Milan

The Champions League journey starts with a big match at home against Italian champions Inter Milan. Vinicius, who boasts four wins in four previous Champions League games versus Inter with one assist, is aware of the challenge ahead. He pointed to Inter’s defensive setup as a major hurdle.

Reflecting on Inter's tactics, he commented, “Whenever the Champions League arrives, it feels different. We’re ready for this match against a great team that will demand a lot from us. Inter are very physically strong. They defend with five at the back, which usually causes us difficulties, but the manager has prepared us for it. We have some absentees, which makes things harder, but we’ll all go out there strongly and hopefully create a wonderful connection with the fans.”

Recovering From Domestic Setback

Madrid approaches the European stage following their first loss of the season against Real Betis. Despite that disappointment, the 26-year-old winger, who has scored one goal and assisted twice in four matches this season, stays upbeat about the team's progress and mentality.

He shared, “We’re starting the season brilliantly, despite our loss in the last game. We played well, created plenty of chances, and that’s the most important thing. We need to stay focused on leading Real Madrid to the top, as we always want.”

Vinicius Reflects on His Legacy at the Bernabeu

Besides focusing on the present, Vinicius took time to acknowledge his growing legacy at Real Madrid. Having scored in two Champions League finals—in 2022 against Liverpool and 2024 against Borussia Dortmund—he understands the significance of those moments.

The forward said, “They’re the two most important goals of my life. Many players score goals, but very few do so in finals. To do it at the biggest club in the world is something neither the fans nor I will ever forget. It was a dream. I never imagined scoring these goals or playing here for so many years. At 26, being one of the leaders of the world’s most important club means a lot to me and my family.”
