Court McGee Opens Up About UFC 332 Being His Final MMA Bout

Veteran Fighter Court McGee to Retire After UFC 332

Court McGee, a seasoned UFC welterweight, shared his reasons for choosing UFC 332 as the last fight of his mixed martial arts career. McGee has been part of the UFC since 2010, when he won Season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter. On Saturday at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, he will face Eric Nolan in the opening preliminary bout.

Why McGee Decided to Step Away Now

The 41-year-old Utah native had already announced his retirement following this fight, but now he’s explained what led to this choice. Talking with MMAjunkie.com, McGee said he had planned this for years, having signed a four-fight contract knowing it would end soon.

"Yeah, it's a retirement fight, but I knew it a couple of years ago when I signed this four-fight deal, so I knew it was coming to an end, and I felt confident with it. Before that, with the neck injury, I thought I was done and I was going to leave a fight on the table, and after fulfilling that last one, I hadn’t felt that good in years. I feel really good. I feel really healthy, but I’m 41 and I’ll be turning 42 this year. Like they say, it’s a young man’s sport, and I want to make sure I have my wits about me when I’m done. I have three kids; I’m married. I have a gym. There’s a lot of life ahead of me after 40. I feel good about my decision. I made that decision with those who are close to me, and I’m OK with it. I’ve made peace with it."

Matchup Insights and Betting Odds

Heading into UFC 332, McGee is seen as the underdog with betting odds at +190, while his opponent, Eric Nolan, holds a -225 favorite position. Nolan, though 0-2 in the UFC, is younger, tougher, and carries more knockout power. McGee counters with strong wrestling skills and endurance, which could sway the crowd's support and make the fight unpredictable despite the odds.
