Tegan Bowie Leaves Hibernian for Serie A Move

Tegan Bowie’s time at Hibernian is over. Parma Calcio have triggered a release clause in her contract, taking the winger to Serie A on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee and ending one of the more compelling development stories in the Scottish game.

From academy prospect to title winner

Bowie grew up in the Hibs system, left to test herself at Celtic, then came back to Edinburgh in 2023 a sharper, more complete player. The return proved decisive. She didn’t just slot back in; she became a pillar.

Across her Hibs career, the 22-year-old racked up 101 appearances and nine goals, but the raw numbers only tell part of it. In the 2024-25 campaign, as Hibs drove towards the title, Bowie’s influence spiked. Five goals, 10 assists, and a constant, nagging presence out wide turned her into one of the side’s most reliable attacking outlets.

When Hibs needed width, she gave them yards. When they needed composure in the final third, she supplied the final ball. The title run had many contributors; Bowie was firmly among them.

A clause that finally bites

The move itself is rooted in paperwork from last summer. A release clause, inserted into her contract in 2025, has now been activated by Parma. For Hibs, it’s a reminder of the modern reality: protect a player’s value, but accept that a foreign club with ambition can come calling at any time.

Head coach Joelle Murray did not hide her frustration at losing such a key figure in these circumstances, telling club media she was “disappointed to see Tegan leave under a clause that was in her contract from summer 2025.” The honesty said plenty. Hibs did not want this to be the end point.

Yet Murray’s tone quickly shifted from regret to recognition. She spoke of a player who has “grown and developed massively” at the club, not just technically but personally, and she sent Bowie on her way with clear backing, hoping she can “continue that incredible personal growth next season and beyond” in Italy.

A farewell with gratitude

Bowie, for her part, leaves with clear affection for the club that shaped her. She thanked Hibs and reflected on “some of my favourite memories with this team,” highlighting how the freedom to express herself on the pitch had driven her development.

That freedom has now earned her a move to one of Europe’s major leagues. Parma are getting a winger who arrives as a champion, used to responsibility and expectation, not a prospect hiding in the shadows.

For Hibs, this is a painful goodbye, but also a powerful advert for what their pathway can produce. For Bowie, it is the next step in a career that has gathered speed with every season. The question now is simple: how far can that momentum carry her in Serie A?
