Only Erling Haaland sits clearly ahead of him in that regard, the Norwegian having plundered 86 goals in 89 competitive games for the Black & Yellow. That benchmark remains extraordinary, but Guirassy’s ratio underlines just how lethal he has been since pulling on the Dortmund jersey.

The comparison with past greats does not stop there. Lothar Emmerich, one of the iconic names in the club’s attacking history, scored 64 times in his first 100 Bundesliga matches for Borussia Dortmund. Guirassy has now matched that figure in all competitions over his first century of appearances, tying his name to a number long associated with one of the club’s legends.

In European competition, the hierarchy is just as telling. In the Champions League, only Marco Reus stands ahead of Guirassy in Dortmund’s scoring charts, a reminder of how quickly the newcomer has climbed a list that usually takes years to shape.
