San Diego FC Signs Veteran Striker Cedric for Firepower

San Diego FC have moved for proven firepower, unveiling veteran striker Cedric as the latest addition to their attack.

Sporting director Tyler Heaps, speaking in the club’s official announcement, did not hold back in his assessment.

“Cedric brings an incredible level of experience and proven quality to San Diego FC,” Heaps said, framing the signing as a statement of intent for the club’s ambitions.

Heaps highlighted not just the name, but the résumé behind it. “He has built an outstanding career competing at the highest levels in Europe and internationally, and his ability to consistently find the back of the net has been a defining part of his game. He understands what it takes to perform on the biggest stages and brings a winning mentality that will be extremely valuable to our group.”

The message was clear: this is a striker signed to lead, not just to fill out the squad.

Cedric arrives with a career that speaks for itself. Since breaking through at Sochaux, the Congolese international has stacked up 191 goals and 49 assists in 492 club appearances, a body of work built across major European stops with Villarreal, Marseille, Olympiacos, and Galatasaray.

On the international stage, his record is just as robust. Representing DR Congo, he has scored 21 goals in 72 caps and featured in four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, giving San Diego FC a player accustomed to pressure, travel, and knockout football.

His signing drops a seasoned finisher into an attack already rich with talent. Anders Dreyer, Marcus Ingvartsen, and fellow 2026 World Cup forward Elias Achouri were already in place; now they are joined by a striker with a track record of delivering when chances fall his way.
