Richarlison's Tottenham Future in Jeopardy Amid Trabzonspor Talks

Richarlison’s Tottenham future is hanging by a thread after talks over a move to Trabzonspor stalled late in the Turkish window.

The Brazilian forward, already on the fringes in north London, saw an opening offer from the Super Lig side knocked back, with Tottenham rejecting a bid of around €20 million (£17m). That refusal has left Richarlison’s camp increasingly doubtful that a deal can be pushed through before the Turkish transfer window closes on 4 September.

Salah and Fabinho join the push

The effort to prise him away from Spurs has gone beyond club-to-club negotiations. According to ESPN Brazil, Mohamed Salah and Richarlison’s former Brazil team-mate Fabinho have both contacted him directly to sell the idea of a move to Turkey.

Richarlison, desperate for a reset, has already made it clear publicly that he intends to take control of his own next step. Behind the scenes, tension has sharpened. The forward’s frustration with what he sees as Tottenham’s hardline stance has grown, while the club hierarchy have shown no willingness to bend on their valuation.

Frozen out by De Zerbi

The relationship on the pitch looks just as bleak. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has left Richarlison out of Spurs’ Premier League squad, a brutal call that followed a failed move to Everton earlier in the window.

De Zerbi has effectively shut the door on him for this campaign, sending the Brazilian to train with the under-21s and making it clear he does not figure in his first-team plans. For a player who arrived in England as a marquee attacker, it is a stark fall.

If the Trabzonspor move collapses, Richarlison will be forced to look elsewhere in the few markets that remain open, with Saudi Arabia among the possible options. If no escape route appears, he faces the prospect of months without competitive football.
