Monaco Signs Four Academy Prospects to Professional Contracts

Monaco have moved quickly to lock down the future of four of their brightest academy prospects, handing first professional contracts to a quartet from the club’s highly rated 2008 generation.

The French side confirmed on Tuesday that Morocco youth internationals Safouane Benzahra and Nahil El Haddani, Tunisian-French midfielder Nejd Ajroud and Melvin Gomes Da Veiga have all signed deals running until 30 June 2029.

All four were key figures in Monaco’s under-19 team, which surged to the semi-finals of the French league last season and drew the attention of scouts across Europe. Their form, especially that of the two Moroccan youngsters, had already sparked interest from rival clubs, pushing Monaco to act.

The club’s faith has not come out of nowhere. According to Foot Mercato, the four teenagers had already taken a significant step this summer, joining Filipe Luís’s squad for pre-season preparations and convincing staff they were ready for the next level.

Benzahra has gone even further. The young Moroccan has already tasted top-flight football, making his competitive debut in Ligue 1 against Paris Saint-Germain, a clear signal of how highly he is rated inside the club.

Ajroud, El Haddani and Da Veiga now follow on the same path, tied down long term and edging closer to the first team. For Monaco, a club built on developing and showcasing young talent, this is not just routine paperwork. It is the next wave being pushed towards the spotlight.
