Liverpool Pursues Bradley Barcola as PSG Lowers Price

Liverpool’s pursuit of Bradley Barcola has reached a new phase, with Paris Saint-Germain now ready to talk at a lower price than their original demand, according to reports in France.

The Premier League club have already moved aggressively in this window. Victor Munoz has arrived from Osasuna to sharpen the attack, while centre-backs Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes and Ronald Araujo from Barcelona have been brought in to reinforce the spine. The next piece of the rebuild is clear: replace the goals and chaos once supplied by Mohamed Salah out wide.

Liverpool initially explored a deal for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, only to see the winger lean towards a move to either PSG or Real Madrid. That pushed Anfield’s recruitment team towards Barcola, a France international whose status under Luis Enrique has weakened as competition has intensified at the Parc des Princes.

For weeks, Liverpool have been in contact with PSG over Barcola, with the French champions initially signalling they wanted around £130m (€152m). French outlet Jeunes Footeux now claims that stance has softened, describing it as a “discount” and even a “gift” for Liverpool.

PSG had long held out for at least €150m. Recent signings in attacking areas, though, have altered the landscape.

The Ligue 1 club are now said to be prepared to listen to offers in the €130–140m range. It is only a “relative” reduction, but one that underlines how highly PSG’s hierarchy still rate Barcola and the value they attach to him.

The message from Paris remains firm: there is no obligation to sell, and they will not entertain dropping the price further. Any concession, they insist, will not turn into a fire sale.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has also added fuel to the story. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he highlighted the absence of both Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG’s matchday squad and what that signals for their futures.

“For Paris Saint-Germain in terms of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye, both of them not even on the bench. What does it mean guys?” Romano said. “The expectation is for both of them to go because Paris Saint-Germain up front already have Desire Doue, Ousmane Demebele, Khvicha Kvaraskhelia, Ferran Torres, Mika Goots and Maghnes Akliouche – six fantastic players and in this moment the expectation is for Barcola to go and for Mbaye to go.”

That congestion in attacking positions has opened the door. Liverpool, Romano says, are trying to walk straight through it.

“Liverpool are negotiating for Barcola. Liverpool are confident for Barcola. Liverpool are pushing for Barcola,” he continued. “I expect this deal to accelerate. Now we enter from Monday into crucial stages of the story. So the negotiations will continue but Liverpool have a verbal agreement, of course on personal terms with Bradley Barcola and Liverpool want to accelerate. So deal absolutely on.”

With personal terms reportedly in place and PSG’s price softening slightly, the battle now moves to the negotiating table. Liverpool have made their move in the post-Salah era. The question is whether they are prepared to go high enough to prise Barcola out of Paris.
