Juventus Anxiously Await Locatelli's Knee Injury Update After Milan Draw

Juventus have been left anxiously waiting on medical news after captain Manuel Locatelli reported a knee problem at the end of Sunday night’s 1-1 draw with Milan in Serie A.

The midfielder, who wore the armband in the clash at the Allianz Stadium, felt discomfort in his knee late in the game, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and others. He did not ask to come off and stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes, but the concern was clear once the final whistle went.

On Monday afternoon, the club scheduled tests at JMedical, with Locatelli expected to undergo examinations in the coming hours to determine the extent of the issue.

Midfield stretched as injuries pile up

The timing could hardly be worse for Juventus. Their midfield is already missing a key piece: Khephren Thuram has undergone knee surgery and is not expected back until early 2027, stripping the team of a regular starter for the long term.

Another serious setback to Locatelli would leave the engine room dangerously thin. In that scenario, Luciano Spalletti would have to lean heavily on Weston McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Teun Koopmeiners and summer arrival Pape Matar Sarr to carry the load in central areas.
