Juventus and Inter Milan Consider Frattesi–Gonzalez Swap

Juventus and Inter Milan are circling around a deal that could suit them both: a straight-talking, modern Serie A solution — the player swap.

On one side, Juventus. On the other, Inter. In the middle, two players with very different profiles and, crucially, very different market values: Davide Frattesi and Nicolas Gonzalez.

Spalletti’s target: Frattesi

Juventus have tracked Davide Frattesi for a while, with Luciano Spalletti pushing for a reunion. He sees the midfielder as a piece that can instantly raise the technical and tactical level of his squad, and the club has stayed alert to any opening that might bring him to Turin.

Frattesi offers legs, timing, and goals from midfield — attributes Juventus believe they lack in sufficient quantity. If there is a chance to prise him away, they intend to be at the front of the queue.

Inter turn to Gonzalez

Inter, meanwhile, are working on a different area of the pitch. They want another winger and have zeroed in on Nicolas Gonzalez.

The Argentinian has grown into a reliable attacking threat over recent seasons. His blend of direct running, work rate, and end product has convinced Inter that he can deepen their attacking options and give them another weapon out wide.

According to Calciomercato, talks between the clubs have begun, with Frattesi and Gonzalez at the heart of the discussion. Juventus are pushing to hand Spalletti a player he trusts. Inter, for their part, see Gonzalez as a solution to a clear need on the flank.

The same report highlights another key factor: Gonzalez’s stance on his future. After a strong loan spell at Atletico Madrid last season, he is said to have made it clear he does not want to play for Juventus again.

That position changes the landscape. A permanent move, even wrapped inside a swap deal, suddenly looks like a logical way out for all involved — provided the numbers line up.

Value gap complicates the equation

And that is where the negotiation becomes delicate.

Juventus are expected to tread carefully. Inside the deal, there is an acknowledgment that Frattesi and Gonzalez do not share the same market valuation. Any agreement must reflect that imbalance before the Bianconeri sign off.

A simple one-for-one exchange is unlikely to satisfy them. If they are to release a player of Frattesi’s value, they will want compensation that mirrors the gap — which could mean Gonzalez plus a cash adjustment.

Inter understand the need for a winger. Juventus want a midfielder tailored to Spalletti’s ideas. If the talks keep moving in the right direction, this could become one of those rare swaps that actually leaves both sides stronger in the positions that matter most.
