Jamal Musiala's Health Concerns: Another Scare for Bayern Munich
Jamal Musiala gave Bayern Munich another scare on Tuesday night, cutting short his appearance in the 4-2 friendly win over Heidenheim after feeling unwell for the second time in four days.
The 21-year-old came on after an hour, but within four minutes he was on the turf, clearly in discomfort. Players from both sides quickly closed in, forming a protective circle as medics rushed onto the pitch.
This time, at least, there was a reassuring sight: after treatment, Musiala was able to walk off the field under his own power.
Second alarm in four days
The incident instantly revived memories of Saturday’s friendly against RB Leipzig. In that game, Musiala had also reported feeling unwell shortly after coming on late in the match. He sat down on the pitch and required assistance from several emergency responders, prompting visible concern among team-mates and staff.
Ismael Saibari was among those most visibly worried as medical personnel attended to the Germany international. The mood only eased when Musiala eventually left the pitch without assistance, to clear relief across the Bayern camp.
Sporting director Max Eberl tried to calm the situation after the Leipzig match, offering a brief update but few details.
“He is doing well now. And that is the most important thing. Beyond that, we cannot say too much about it yet,” Eberl told Sport1.
Super Cup on the horizon
Musiala has not yet spoken publicly about the two episodes, and Bayern have given no further specifics beyond Eberl’s remarks. The timing is uncomfortable. Bayern face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the German Super Cup, a high-intensity curtain-raiser that usually sets the tone for the season.
Whether Musiala will be involved is now an unavoidable question — and one Bayern will answer with his health, not just the trophy, in mind.
