Inter Champions League Squad Features Stones and Jones

Inter have nailed down their squad for the 2026-27 Champions League league phase, and every one of their summer signings has made the cut.

John Stones, Curtis Jones, Aleksandar Stankovic and Djed Spence are all in, split across the Nerazzurri’s List A and List B submissions to UEFA. The club confirmed the full registration late on, after squads were filed by the September 2 deadline that followed the close of the summer transfer window across most of Europe.

Inter go with 23 on List A

UEFA regulations allow up to 25 players on List A, but they come with strings attached: at least two goalkeepers and a minimum of eight locally trained players. Inter fall one short on that final count.

With only seven players meeting the locally trained criteria, the club’s List A cap automatically drops to 23. Inter have filled all of those available slots.

Those seven locally trained names are:

• Nicolo Barella
• Piotr Zielinski

Around them, Simone Inzaghi’s core is clearly defined.

In goal, Josep Martinez joins Provedel and Di Gennaro.

The defensive line on List A includes Stones, Manuel Akanji, Benjamin Pavard, Carlos Augusto, Yann-Aurel Bisseck and Spence. It is a group built for flexibility: ball-playing centre-backs, aggressive full-backs, and depth across every role.

Midfield is loaded. Zielinski, Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Andy Diouf, Hakan Calhanoglu, Curtis Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Barella form a blend of control, legs and creativity that should carry Inter through the grind of the league phase.

Up front, Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny are the three forwards registered. No surprises there. Lautaro remains the reference point, with Thuram and Bonny offering power and variety in support.

Youth talent parked on List B

The rules open a different door for club-grown youth. Players born on or after January 1, 2005, who have spent a continuous period at the club, can be placed on List B and registered closer to matchdays.

Inter have taken that route with Stankovic and Pio Esposito. Both slot into List B rather than occupying precious List A spots, a move that protects squad flexibility without shutting the door on their involvement.

The club has not released the full set of names on that youth-eligible list, but the inclusion of Stankovic and Esposito underlines the pathway from the academy to the Champions League stage.

Inter now know exactly who they can call on when the anthem hits. The question is how far this blend of new blood, homegrown pillars and established stars can carry them in Europe this time.
