Galatasaray Aims for Historic Fifth Straight Title in Turkish Super Lig

The Turkish Super Lig roars back to life on Friday night, and all eyes turn to Rams Park. Champions Galatasaray, already out on their own with 26 league titles, are hunting something no club in Türkiye has ever done before – five in a row.

Fenerbahce load up for long-awaited crown

Fenerbahce have had enough of watching. Runners-up last season, without a league title since 2014, the Istanbul giants have responded with the kind of transfer window that sends a message across a league.

Romelu Lukaku is the headline act, signed from Napoli this week to lead the line. Behind him, English winger Mason Greenwood arrives from Olympique Marseille, while Netherlands defender Nathan Ake comes in from Manchester City to stiffen the back line.

It is a spine built for a title tilt, not just a top-four push.

Fenerbahce open away to Gençlerbirligi in Ankara on Saturday night. The pressure will be immediate. With that level of investment, anything short of a serious challenge to Galatasaray will feel like failure.

Besiktas sharpen their attack

Besiktas have chosen the same route: firepower.

The Black Eagles have moved for Serbia international Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus, a classic No. 9 with the profile to transform an attack on his own. On the flank, Belgian winger Leandro Trossard joins from Arsenal, adding creativity and goals from wide areas.

They start at home to Eyupspor on Sunday. A big crowd, big expectations, and a forward line built to deliver. If Galatasaray set the pace early, Besiktas cannot afford to be playing catch-up by September.

Salah shock as Trabzonspor break Istanbul’s script

The summer’s biggest twist came away from Istanbul. Trabzonspor, determined to break the capital’s grip on the trophy, landed Egypt captain Mohamed Salah on a two-year deal.

It is a signing that instantly alters the league’s global profile. More importantly for Trabzonspor, it gives them a match-winner capable of unsettling the established order.
