Eli Junior Kroupi Shortlisted for Men’s Young Talent of the Year

Eli Junior Kroupi’s breakout year has been given global recognition, with the Bournemouth forward shortlisted for the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award ahead of the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony.

The 20-year-old is one of three Premier League names in a 10-player list, joining Manchester City’s Ayyoub Bouaddi and Aston Villa’s Johan Manzambi among Europe’s most highly rated young prospects.

Kroupi only arrived on the Premier League scene in August 2025, but he wasted no time leaving a mark. Across all competitions last season, he made 35 appearances for Bournemouth and struck 13 goals, quickly becoming a focal point of their attack.

The numbers carried extra weight. By the end of the 2025-26 campaign, Kroupi had scored more goals than any other teenager in their debut Premier League season, a statement return that pushed him into the wider continental conversation.

Right now, though, his rise is on pause. A foot injury suffered in pre-season forced him into surgery, and he has yet to feature this term. Bournemouth expect him back between October and November, a timeline that would see him return just as the season begins to harden and the award debates intensify.

The Men’s Young Talent of the Year prize will be among the honours handed out at the 70th Ballon d’Or ceremony in London on Monday, 26 October – a night that could mark the first major individual milestone in Kroupi’s burgeoning career.
