Barcelona have spent the summer loading up out wide, and the knock-on effect is about to claim its first high-profile casualty.

Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi have arrived to join Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, leaving the flanks at Montjuïc packed with pace, profile and promise. For Roony Bardghji, who only came in last summer as Yamal’s understudy, the message could not be clearer: minutes will be scarce.

The Swedish winger already lived on the fringes last season. With the new signings pushing him even further down the pecking order, the club and player have now reached a firm conclusion.

The preferred formula at the club is a permanent sale with a buy-back clause, a structure they view as the best way to ease their wage bill and squad congestion while keeping a door open.

Ajax circle as market moves unfold

One name keeps coming up around Bardghji: Ajax.

The Dutch giants have tracked the winger in recent weeks and like the idea of bringing in a creative wide player with upside. Their move, though, hinges on another transfer.

PSG are pushing hard to sign Ajax winger Mika Godts, with talks ongoing. If Godts leaves for the reigning UEFA Champions League holders, Ajax are ready to move on Bardghji as a replacement option on the flank.

For the Swede, the Eredivisie would offer exactly what he is chasing – a league that trusts young attackers, a club that lives on developing them, and a platform big enough to keep him in Europe’s shop window.
