Arsenal Open to Galatasaray Offers for Martinelli and Nwaneri
Arsenal have held talks with Galatasaray over potential deals for several squad players, with Gabriel Martinelli and highly rated youngster Ethan Nwaneri among those the London club are prepared to listen to offers for.
The Turkish champions have lodged a verbal proposal worth around €45m (£38.5m) for Martinelli, a figure that underlines how highly the Brazil international is regarded across Europe. The fee is serious. The appetite from the player, less so.
Sources indicate the 25-year-old is reluctant to swap the Premier League for the Turkish Super Lig at this stage of his career, leaving Galatasaray to test Arsenal’s stance without yet convincing the forward himself.
The conversations between the clubs have not been limited to outgoing business from north London. During the talks, the future of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is also understood to have been raised, adding another layer of intrigue to a negotiation already loaded with big names and big numbers.
Arsenal’s willingness to entertain offers for Nwaneri, one of the brightest talents from their academy, underlines a broader readiness to reshape the squad if the market brings the right proposals.
Martinelli had attracted tentative interest from Paris St-Germain in recent weeks, but the French champions have since turned their attention elsewhere, leaving Galatasaray to push on almost alone in their pursuit.
The question now is whether money, and Arsenal’s evolving plans, can shift a player who so far seems unconvinced by the move.
