Yan Diomande Remains Committed to PSG Despite Premier League Interest

Yan Diomande has listened. Arsenal have called. Liverpool too. Manchester City have stepped up as well over the past week.

The answer has not changed.

According to multiple sources, the RB Leipzig winger remains fixed on one destination: Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG turn up the heat

The chase for one of Europe’s most coveted young attackers is not officially over, but the shape of the race is clear. Diomande’s camp has told each Premier League suitor the same thing – his preference is still PSG, despite a flurry of late pressure from England.

Inside Paris, this is no routine deal. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has taken personal control of negotiations with Red Bull as the European champions push to close what would be one of the standout transfers of the summer window.

His long-standing relationship with the Red Bull hierarchy has smoothed the path. Talks have moved forward, and those close to the discussions now believe an agreement is edging closer. Leipzig, for their part, have already accepted internally that Diomande is on course for Paris.

Earlier this month, the Bundesliga club even explored a compromise: sell Diomande now, keep him on loan for another year. It would have eased the sporting blow while banking a huge fee.

Luis Enrique was having none of it.

The PSG head coach has made it clear he wants the Ivory Coast starlet in his squad immediately. No loan-back, no delay. Integrated this summer, on the training pitches at Camp des Loges, ready for the new campaign.

PSG are backing him. The French champions are prepared to pay around €110 million (£93.5m, $126m) to get the deal done on their terms.

Premier League pushback

That kind of fee has not scared off the Premier League’s elite. It has simply sharpened their urgency.

Liverpool, long-term admirers, have been the most persistent English presence in the background. They have kept up regular dialogue with Diomande’s representatives, hoping for any sign of a twist – any stumble in PSG’s talks that might crack the door open.

So far, nothing.

Arsenal have re-entered the picture too. Their failure to land Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers caught them off guard and forced a rapid rethink in their attacking plans. Diomande had been on their radar throughout the summer; missing out on their primary target prompted fresh enquiries.

Manchester City have also reaffirmed their interest. With Savinho expected to complete his move to Tottenham Hotspur, City still want another wide option and have made it known they would be ready to move quickly if Diomande’s stance shifted away from PSG.

The message back has been blunt. All three clubs have been told the same thing: the player’s focus is locked on a switch to the Parc des Princes.

No auction, no games

One key detail from inside the talks: Red Bull are not playing the market.

Sources stress Leipzig are not using the Premier League interest to squeeze extra millions out of PSG. Negotiations over Diomande’s fee are progressing independently of the approaches from England, without the classic late-window auction that often inflates prices for emerging stars.

That will be of some comfort to PSG, who already stand ready to commit a nine-figure sum. It also underlines how far down the road this deal has travelled.

Both PSG and Leipzig are aware of complications stemming from Diomande’s recent change of representation. There are ongoing discussions around elements of his image rights following the agent switch, and those details still need ironing out.

The expectation inside the deal? Annoying, not alarming. All parties remain confident those issues will not derail the transfer.

Paris or bust

As talks move into their final stretch, the picture is stark.

PSG are determined to deliver one of the marquee moves of the summer and hand Luis Enrique a devastating new weapon out wide. Leipzig are braced for life without one of their brightest assets. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are still calling, still hopeful, but increasingly resigned to the same answer.

Unless something dramatic breaks late, Yan Diomande will be wearing PSG colours next season – and three of England’s biggest clubs will be left wondering how they let one of Europe’s most exciting young wingers slip through their fingers.
