Tyson Fury Plans to Invite Donald Trump for Anthony Joshua Bout

Tyson Fury Aims to Involve Donald Trump in Joshua Fight

Tyson Fury is well-known for turning his fights into grand events even before the first round starts. His entrances often feature dramatic pyrotechnics and music, setting an exciting tone for fans both live and on screen.

For his upcoming fight against fellow Brit and former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at Cardiff's Principality Stadium on December 11, Fury appears to be planning something equally spectacular. But this time, he might face some criticism because he wants Donald Trump, the President of the United States, to join him during his ring walk.

The Long-Awaited Fury vs Joshua Match

After years of delays caused by fighters' stubbornness, promoter issues, and untimely losses, the much-anticipated clash between Fury and Joshua is finally set to take place in the UK.

Fury has openly admitted he aims for the biggest payday possible, even if it risks the fight not happening. When talks surfaced about hosting the fight at Madison Square Garden in New York, Fury showed eagerness, knowing the US venue would bring a lucrative payday. However, Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn insisted the bout must happen in Britain or not at all. Joshua even took a significant pay cut to keep the fight on home soil. Eventually, the near-74,000-capacity Principality Stadium in Cardiff was selected.

Fury’s Show-Stopping Entrances

Wherever Fury fights, his entrances create unforgettable atmospheres. In 2020, during his rematch with Deontay Wilder, which earned him the WBC title and gave Wilder his first loss, Fury entered wearing a crown and robe while sitting on a throne at MGM Grand. The 2021 trilogy bout saw him dressed as a Spartan warrior, walking out to AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long."

During his 2022 defense against Dillian Whyte at Wembley, Fury mixed songs like "American Pie," "Jerusalem," and "Your Sex Is On Fire," with ring gear inspired by the English flag. Against Oleksandr Usyk in May 2024, he walked out to "Holding Out For A Hero," and for the December rematch opened with "All I Want For Christmas Is You." These entrances have become part of Fury’s identity.

Trump’s Possible Role in the Mega Fight

For the huge fight with Joshua, Fury wants to repeat his flair but add a new twist—inviting Donald Trump to accompany him during his walk to the ring. He said,

"I'll definitely make that offer to my old buddy, and we'll see if he's available. It's probably unlikely because of the situation he's in at the moment, being the President of the United States."

Fury recognizes Trump's current distractions with the upcoming mid-term elections and ongoing conflicts abroad. Since the fight will no longer be in the US, the chance of Trump's attendance seems slim, but Fury’s proposal adds an intriguing layer to the event's buildup.
