Sparta Rotterdam Set to Sign PSV Midfielder Isaac Babadi on Loan
Sparta Rotterdam are closing in on a loan deal for PSV midfielder Isaac Babadi, with the move expected to be confirmed later on Deadline Day, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.
The 21-year-old has struggled to force his way into Peter Bosz’s plans at the Philips Stadion and has barely featured for the first team in recent months. His last appearance for PSV’s senior side dates back to May of last year.
Babadi spent last season on loan at Royal Antwerp FC, where he made 21 official appearances. Back in Eindhoven, the path to regular minutes has remained blocked, prompting PSV to open the door to another temporary move.
Earlier this week, Voetbal International reported that both Fortuna Sittard and Sparta were vying for his signature. Sparta now look set to win that battle, giving the midfielder a fresh platform in the Eredivisie.
The deal stands apart from Ayoni Santos’ recent move from Sparta to PSV. According to ED, Sparta will not take on Babadi’s full salary but will cover part of his wages as part of the agreement.
Babadi is under contract with PSV until mid-2028 and has already made 35 official first-team appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist. Now he appears ready for a new stage in Rotterdam, where the expectation is simple: play, impress, and prove he belongs at the top end of Dutch football.
