Schalke Receives Boost as Gosens and Karaman Return to Training
The new Bundesliga season is drawing closer, and Schalke finally have some welcome news from the treatment room.
Summer signing Robin Gosens was back in the thick of it on Wednesday, taking part in large parts of full team training on 12 August. For a club eager to see their new arrival properly integrated, it’s an important step.
Gosens had picked up a thigh injury in a test match against Hessen Kassel at the start of the month, a frustrating early setback just as he was trying to settle. His progress now offers a clear signal: the recovery is moving in the right direction.
The mood brightened further with the sight of captain Kenan Karaman rejoining the group. He has returned to training after suffering a pelvic contusion in the friendly against Atalanta on 8 August, an awkward knock that briefly raised concerns over his availability for the league start.
Not everyone is back yet. Junior Dina Ebimbe remains on an individual programme and will need a little more time before he can rejoin full squad sessions.
With the season about to ignite, Schalke’s injury list is starting to shrink at exactly the moment the coach needs his options widest.
