Romelu Lukaku's Future at Fenerbahce: Latest Updates

Romelu Lukaku’s future is back on the table in Istanbul. Again.

The Belgian striker has been offered to Fenerbahce once more, according to reports on Friday, as he scours the market for what could be the final major move of his career. Saudi Arabia is circling too, with clubs from the Pro League now in the conversation.

At 33, Lukaku is heading into the last year of his deal with Napoli. The timing is brutal. His 2025–26 campaign never caught fire on a personal level, and he is not expected to be Massimiliano Allegri’s first-choice centre-forward when the new season kicks off. For a player who once bullied defences across Europe, the picture has shifted quickly.

Napoli, sensing the moment, are ready to cash out. Reports in Italy indicate the club would accept offers of no more than €10 million for the veteran forward. That is a modest fee for Belgium’s all-time top scorer, a reminder of both his age and his recent form. Even so, his departure from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona remains theory, not fact. No agreement, no farewell, not yet.

The market, though, is moving around him. Over the past few days, Lukaku has been linked with a switch to MLS side Atlanta United, a move that would drag one of Europe’s most recognisable No. 9s into the American spotlight. Now Turkey is back in the story.

Doruk Tigemer, correspondent for “TRT Spor”, says Lukaku has once again been offered to Fenerbahce. This is not a new idea hastily thrown together late in the window. His name was first put to the Istanbul giants during the winter transfer window, then resurfaced around a month ago. Each time, the proposal has hovered in the air without landing.

For now, it is all positioning. No official negotiations have taken place between Fenerbahce and Napoli, nor between the Turkish club and the player’s representatives. The offer is there. The door is open.

The question is who steps through it first.
