Real Madrid Trio Returns to Training Ahead of Champions League Opener
Real Madrid received a timely boost on Sunday as Aurelien Tchouameni, Thiago Pitarch and Endrick all returned to group training, pushing to make themselves available for Tuesday’s Champions League opener against Inter Milan.
The sight of the trio back on the pitch comes with a caveat. All three missed over a month of pre-season work, a significant gap at this stage of the campaign. A place in José Mourinho’s starting XI at the San Siro looks a long shot, but their presence alone changes the mood around Valdebebas.
Mourinho needs that lift. Real Madrid go into Europe still stung by a frustrating defeat to Betis, and the problems in midfield are stacking up. Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Güler and Bernardo Silva are all suspended, ripping out three major options from the heart of the side and forcing the coach into a full rethink.
The Challenge Ahead
The puzzle is clear: rebuild the midfield, restore confidence, and do it all in time for Inter.
For Tchouameni, Pitarch and Endrick, the next few days are about more than fitness tests and running drills. They must accelerate their conditioning, sharpen their rhythm with the ball and, just as crucially, absorb the demands of Mourinho’s system after weeks on the outside looking in.
They are unlikely to start. They may only be options from the bench. But with suspensions biting and a statement night in Europe looming, even limited minutes from fresh legs could shape how Real Madrid begin their Champions League journey.
