Rafael Leao Nears €60m Move to Fenerbahce with Lucrative Offer from Turkish Club
Fenerbahce Intensifies Efforts to Sign Rafael Leao
Fenerbahce are stepping up their pursuit of Portuguese forward Rafael Leao, currently at AC Milan, aiming to secure a deal around €60 million. The Turkish club plans to present an attractive contract to the player as they try to outpace rivals in the race for his signature.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Fenerbahce intends to meet with Leao’s representatives in Milan soon, though no official offer has reached the Rossoneri yet. Milan is looking to raise funds from this potential transfer to support new signings after bringing in Mario Gila and Goncalo Ramos.
Substantial Salary Package on the Table
The club is ready to offer Leao a salary close to €10 million per season plus bonuses, seeking to tempt him away from other contenders like Galatasaray. Reports from Gazzetta mention that Leao has spent part of his holiday in Turkey, sparking speculation about his next destination. Despite this, AC Milan has yet to receive a formal bid.
Leao is expected to take some time before deciding and is set to return for Milan’s pre-season tour in Australia. Prior to the World Cup, the forward expressed interest in a fresh challenge, and it seems his stance remains unchanged weeks later.
Holding Out for Premier League or La Liga Interest
Though Turkish interest grows, Leao appears to be waiting for offers from leading clubs in England or Spain. Sources say he prefers to leave Italy unless he stays with Milan, but might accept a move to Turkey if terms are favorable. His World Cup appearances, including a goal against Uzbekistan and a key assist versus Croatia, have not yet ignited broader competition for his transfer.
Future Decision Pending
Leao’s current priority is to see if any major clubs make a move before settling on his next step. He plans to attend a commercial event in Brazil before rejoining Milan for their Australian tour. Following that, Milan will continue preparations in Indonesia unless Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, or another interested party finalizes an agreement beforehand.
