PSG Set to Sign Monaco Winger Akliouche
Paris Saint-Germain are about to add yet another weapon to an attack that already intimidates the rest of Europe. The French champions have moved decisively for Monaco winger Akliouche, with a deal now described as imminent after a rapid breakthrough in negotiations.
PSG move fast for a priority target
Luis Enrique made no secret inside the club of his desire to deepen his attacking rotation this summer. Akliouche, 24 and already an established France international, quickly climbed to the top of PSG’s shortlist as they prepared for the likely departure of Bradley Barcola.
When Monaco rejected an opening €45 million offer, the situation could have drifted into a long, drawn-out saga between two domestic rivals. Instead, PSG pushed the issue. They returned almost immediately with an improved €50m bid, a figure that convinced Monaco to sell and effectively sealed the agreement between the clubs.
That second offer changed the tone of the talks. What began as a firm stance from Monaco turned into a swift green light, clearing the way for Akliouche to discuss personal terms with the reigning European champions and finally step out of the Principality.
From Monaco’s academy to a marquee move
Akliouche’s journey to this point has been steady rather than spectacular, but it has been relentless. He entered Monaco’s academy in 2018 and forced his way into the first team by 2021, then grew season by season into one of Ligue 1’s most reliable wide threats.
His rise at club level carried him into the France setup. The winger has already collected ten senior caps for Les Bleus, scoring once, and was trusted enough to make the squad for the 2026 World Cup. In that tournament he appeared once, coming off the bench in the 83rd minute to replace Barcola in a 3–0 group-stage win over Iraq — a neat twist now that he is set to cover the same teammate’s expected exit in Paris.
This transfer, then, is more than a step up. It is a crossing of the divide inside French football: from Monaco’s carefully built production line to the relentless spotlight of PSG, from promising performer to headline signing.
Medicals, paperwork, and a long-term bet
The move has entered its final stretch. Akliouche travelled to Paris on Thursday to undergo his medical, the last formal hurdle before he signs on in the capital. PSG expect no surprises. Once the tests are completed, the winger is due to commit to a long-term contract running until June 2031.
The length of that deal underlines the club’s conviction. This is not a stopgap. It is a strategic piece for the next era under Luis Enrique, a player expected to slot straight into the squad and offer immediate depth and competition on the flanks.
If all goes to plan, Akliouche will walk out at the Parc des Princes not as a prospect to be nurtured, but as a fully-fledged France international charged with keeping PSG’s attack among the most feared in Europe.
