Premier League Summer 2026 Transfer Window Deadlines

The Premier League is back in full noise, but the real scramble is still off the pitch. Directors are on phones, agents are circling, and early results are already twisting a few arms in boardrooms across England.

More than £2.5bn has gone out the door this summer. One deal towers over the rest: Morgan Rogers at £117m, the biggest signing of the window so far. Just behind him, Elliott Anderson’s £116m move to Man City and Sandro Tonali’s £100m switch to Tottenham underline how wild the market has become at the top end.

And it may not be over yet. Liverpool are pushing to land a winger and have been heavily linked with PSG’s Bradley Barcola. Arsenal have been mentioned in the same breath, eyeing the same player as they look for one more attacking spark. The clock is ticking, but the chequebooks are still open.

Here’s how long clubs have left to get their business done.

Premier League summer 2026 deadline

In England, the summer window opened on Monday 15 June. The final whistle for deals blows on Tuesday 1 September at 11pm BST.

There is a two-hour grace period after that cut-off. That doesn’t mean new negotiations; it simply allows clubs to push the last of the paperwork over the line for deals agreed in time.

Scotland’s summer 2026 window

North of the border, the calendar is slightly different. Scotland’s window also opened on 15 June, but it runs a little longer.

Clubs there can trade until 3 September, with a 5pm BST deadline – two days after the Premier League shuts down its summer business.

WSL summer 2026 window

The Women’s Super League runs on its own schedule. The WSL window opened on Tuesday 16 June and will close on Thursday 3 September at 11pm BST.

That later cut-off gives women’s clubs a touch more breathing space as squads are fine-tuned for the new campaign.

Across Europe: LaLiga, Bundesliga, Serie A

The rest of Europe is dancing to similar, but not identical, rhythms.

LaLiga clubs have until 10.59pm on 1 September to complete their signings. Miss that by a minute and they wait until winter.

In Germany, the Bundesliga shuts up shop earlier. Their deadline lands on 31 August at 7pm, forcing German clubs to move slightly ahead of their English and Spanish rivals.

Serie A sides in Italy can work the market until 1 September, with an 8pm deadline. Enough time for a late twist, not enough for a full-blown saga.

Winter 2027: when the market reopens

Once the summer chaos settles, attention will drift to the mid-season reset.

In England, the winter window opens on 1 January 2027 and closes on 1 February at 11pm GMT. One month to patch up injuries, fix mistakes and gamble on a season’s turning point.

Scotland joins in slightly later, opening on 5 January and closing on 4 February at 5pm GMT.

The WSL window opens on 4 January and also shuts on 4 February, mirroring Scotland’s end date.

The money has already been huge, the names even bigger. With the deadlines now in sight, the only real question is who blinks first before the window slams shut.
