Noni Madueke's Intense Summer Training in Dubai

Noni Madueke is not treating this summer as a victory lap.

Fresh from helping England to a third-place finish at the 2026 World Cup, the 23-year-old winger is already cranking up preparations for what will be his first full pre-season with Arsenal. Rather than easing himself back in after a long campaign, he is heading straight into the heat.

According to reporter Simon Collings, Madueke is travelling to Dubai for the second phase of his summer break, blending warm-weather downtime with a demanding personal conditioning programme before he reports back for club duty.

This is no casual getaway. Dubai has become the unofficial off-season laboratory for Premier League footballers, a place where luxury hotels sit alongside punishing double sessions and data-driven drills. Madueke plans to lean into that culture, working with specialist performance coaches on sharpness, explosive acceleration and cardiovascular endurance.

He has already been granted an extended rest by Arsenal after his World Cup exploits, but the winger has chosen to spend the final stretch of that break pushing his body rather than protecting it. High-intensity work under Middle Eastern heat is a clear statement: he wants to arrive at London Colney not just fit, but flying.

For Arsenal, it is an encouraging sign. Madueke cost an initial £48.5m when he joined from PSV Eindhoven last summer, and this season offers a clean runway to show exactly why the club invested so heavily. His first year brought flashes; now comes the expectation of consistency.

The battle for minutes will be unforgiving. Bukayo Saka, carefully managed through large parts of last season, is targeting a far more productive 2026/27 campaign. Around them, Mikel Arteta’s squad is stacked with attacking options, all jostling for the same precious spaces in the starting XI.

Madueke knows that reality. That is why the hard yards are happening now, long before the first whistle of pre-season. While others switch off, he is choosing to sweat.

Once his personal regime in Dubai is complete, he will rejoin his teammates and step into a campaign that could define his Arsenal career. How ready he is when that first ball is rolled out may determine whether he becomes a rotation option, or something far more central to Arteta’s plans.
