Musiala Shines as Bayern Munich Defeats Union Berlin 7-0

Jamal Musiala did not just return. He took centre stage.

Vincent Kompany did not hide his satisfaction. Speaking to German newspaper “Bild”, the Bayern coach underlined the significance of the night for his young star.

“He played 90 minutes and scored a goal,” Kompany said, stressing that the conversation around Musiala can now return to footballing levels and performance, rather than medical bulletins and speculation about his condition.

The timing could hardly be kinder. Musiala now heads off to join the Germany squad during the international break, where new head coach Jürgen Klopp will get his first extended look at him in this new phase of his comeback. Another camp, more minutes, another chance to sharpen the edges of a game that once made him the most exciting prospect in German football.
