Harry Kane Set to Sign New Deal with Bayern Munich

Harry Kane is closing in on a new contract at Bayern Munich – and that is a blow Sir Jim Ratcliffe will feel all the way from Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s co-owner is known to be a huge admirer of the England captain and has been closely monitoring his situation in Germany. Kane’s current deal runs out at the end of the season, and United have been willing to explore a move for the former Tottenham Hotspur striker.

Back on August 10, transfer insider Graeme Bailey revealed that United were among the clubs keen on Kane, with Ratcliffe especially eager to test Bayern’s resolve. Kane, 33, fits everything United want in a centre-forward: proven at the highest level, elite numbers, and still operating at a world-class level.

But the door is now swinging shut.

Bayern are ready to offer Kane a new three-year contract, and the mood in Munich is relaxed, even confident, about tying down their No.9. The German champions see him as central to their plans and have moved to end any uncertainty before he enters the final months of his deal.

The clearest indication yet has come from Germany. Bild journalist Christian Falk, speaking on his CFBayernInsider platform, revealed that Bayern insiders expect a resolution very soon.

Falk explained that Kane was honoured as “football star of the year” at the Sport Bild Awards, joining the ceremony via Zoom while his father Pat attended in person at the Fischauktionshalle in Hamburg. During the event, Falk spoke with Bayern president Herbert Hainer about the striker’s future and came away with a clear message: calm.

According to Falk, everyone at the club is telling people to “relax”, with the feeling inside Bayern that a new agreement is only a matter of time. There are still details to iron out in the talks, but the confidence is strong that both sides will reach an agreement.

The timeline is tight. Falk expects an announcement on Kane’s future next month, stressing that it will come “absolutely this year, not next year”. He is “really sure” Kane will sign an extension that runs beyond 2026.

If that happens, Kane effectively disappears from the market for a long stretch. For clubs like United, who have tracked him for years and once hoped to make him the centrepiece of a new era under Ratcliffe, the message is brutal in its simplicity: he’s not leaving.
