Top Oldest Goal Scorers in FIFA World Cup History

Veteran Scorers in FIFA World Cup History

Cristiano Ronaldo didn't win the FIFA World Cup this summer, but he did set three new records in North America. His goal in Portugal's group stage victory against Uzbekistan marked him as the only male player to score in six separate World Cups. This achievement ties him with Lionel Messi for the most World Cup appearances by any player.

Ronaldo also became the oldest player to net a goal during the knockout phase, scoring against Croatia at 41 years and 147 days old. Still, the record for the oldest World Cup goalscorer remains with Cameroon's Roger Milla, who scored at USA 1994 when he was 42 years and 39 days old.

This year's tournament highlighted experienced stars, including Messi, Marko Arnautovic, and Ivan Perisic, all of whom ranked among the top ten oldest goal scorers ever.
