Eiran Cashin Set to Miss Two Months for Derby County

Derby County have been dealt an early defensive blow with Eiran Cashin set to miss around two months with a calf injury.

The centre-back only returned to Pride Park at the start of the month, rejoining on loan from Brighton for the rest of the season after coming through Derby’s academy and making 144 appearances in his first spell.

John Eustace wasted no time throwing him back into the heart of the Rams’ back line. Cashin started the defeats against West Brom and Birmingham, playing almost the full 90 minutes in both games as Derby tried to steady themselves under the new head coach.

Then came the first worrying sign. Cashin was nowhere to be seen in the matchday squad for the clash with Burnley.

Speaking to BBC Radio Derby, Eustace confirmed the bad news. “Cash is out now for about eight weeks, he’s done his calf,” the manager said.
