Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez Announce Their Marriage

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially married his long-time partner, Georgina Rodríguez. The celebrated Portuguese footballer and the model tied the knot in a private civil ceremony held on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal.

The couple marked their wedding exactly one year after announcing their engagement on Instagram in 2025. A representative for the Al Nassr star confirmed that the intimate ceremony was attended by their five children.

Ronaldo shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, featuring a photo of them holding hands and showing their wedding bands, captioned simply: "C❤️G." The event came just days after reports suggested they would marry at Funchal Cathedral, Ronaldo's hometown, which drew thousands of fans outside the church.

How Ronaldo and Rodríguez Met

Their story began in 2016 when Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. In her Netflix documentary Soy Georgina, she revealed their meeting happened unexpectedly when Ronaldo came to the store with his eldest son and friends. She was supposed to finish work early but stayed three hours later to assist this VIP client.

"I was finally able to leave the shop to go home three hours later than I should have and as I was getting ready to leave Cristiano came in with his eldest son and some friends," Rodríguez recalled. "Let's just say it was butterflies in my stomach."

The two quickly became inseparable. Ronaldo often picked her up from work in his Bugatti, while Rodríguez arrived by bus, a contrast that amazed her coworkers so much she eventually had to quit due to the attention.

Despite the changes, their relationship stayed strong. Rodríguez took on a maternal role for Ronaldo's three older children—Cristiano Jr, Eva Maria, and Mateo—before having two daughters together, Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.

The Wait for the Wedding

Ronaldo once mentioned in the documentary that he hadn't proposed earlier because he was waiting for the right moment, describing it as "the click." He said,

"I always tell her, when we get that click. Like everything with our life, and she knows what I'm talking about."

He expressed confidence that the wedding would happen soon, saying it could be in a year, six months, or even a month.

Rodríguez also shared how her friends frequently teased her about the wedding timing, joking and singing Jennifer Lopez's song "The Ring or When." Now, after years of anticipation, the couple is officially husband and wife.
