Brenden Aaronson Signs New Three-Year Deal with Leeds United
Leeds United have locked down another pillar of Daniel Farke’s project, with Brenden Aaronson signing a new three-year contract as he entered the final 12 months of his previous deal.
The 25-year-old becomes the third key figure to commit to Elland Road this week, following fresh agreements for Joe Rodon and Jayden Bogle. The message from West Yorkshire is clear: the core of this side is staying put.
A season that changed everything
Aaronson’s decision arrives off the back of his most complete campaign in a Leeds shirt. Under Farke, he finally found rhythm and consistency, playing a major role in securing Premier League stability last season.
He featured 42 times across all competitions in 2025-26, scoring four goals and supplying five assists. Only Anton Stach created more chances than Aaronson’s 37 in Farke’s squad, underlining his influence between the lines and his growing status as one of the team’s primary creators.
For a player whose journey briefly took him away on loan to Union Berlin in 2023-24, the numbers tell a story of evolution. Across his Leeds career, Aaronson now stands on 129 appearances, with 14 goals and 10 assists, all for the Whites.
“It’s a dream come true being at this club and being a part of this project,” the United States international told the club’s official channels. “It’s so ambitious. It’s a beautiful club and I love being here. There was no doubt in my mind. I think it was easy for me to make this decision, and I am so excited about what the future has in store.”
No drama, just commitment
Behind the scenes, talks were straightforward. Aaronson made it clear he wanted to stay, and the club moved quickly to reward a player who has grown into a central figure in Farke’s system.
His extension adds another layer of security to a squad that has been carefully reshaped rather than ripped apart. The spine remains, the edges are being sharpened.
A busy, targeted window
Aaronson’s renewal is part of a productive summer at Elland Road. Leeds have already moved decisively in the market, adding Harry Wilson, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic, and James Trafford to bolster depth and quality across the pitch.
With Rodon and Bogle tied down and Aaronson now committed, Farke can lean on a settled core while integrating fresh faces. Stability with a touch of ambition — exactly what Leeds have craved since their return to the top flight.
Forest away: a familiar hurdle
Attention now swings to the opening day of the 2026-27 Premier League season, and a trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
History offers a warning. Leeds have gone 14 top-flight visits to Forest without a win, a barren run that stretches back through eras and managers. The City Ground has not been kind.
Yet opening day tells a different story. The Whites have lost just two of their last 18 top-flight season openers, a record that hints at a team that tends to arrive ready, sharp, and aggressive when the curtain goes up.
With Aaronson’s future settled, a reinforced squad, and a manager who has already delivered stability, Leeds head into the new campaign with something they have rarely enjoyed in recent years: continuity.
Now the question is simple. Can this renewed core turn security into genuine upward momentum in the Premier League?
