Barcelona Sets Price for Héctor Fort Amid Dortmund and Sociedad Interest
Barcelona’s plans for Héctor Fort are edging towards a decision, but what looked like a simple exit route to Borussia Dortmund has turned into a far more tangled negotiation.
For days, Dortmund seemed to be closing in on the young full-back. Talks advanced, the path looked clear, and the Bundesliga club were widely viewed as the frontrunners to take him from the Camp Nou.
Then Real Sociedad stepped in.
Their late move has not blown Dortmund out of the water, but it has slowed everything down and forced Barcelona to put their cards on the table.
Barça set the price – and the rules
According to the latest from Matteo Moretto, Dortmund are still in the strongest position to strike a deal with Barcelona. They remain the leading candidate, but only if they accept the conditions the Catalan club have now laid out.
Barça’s stance is blunt.
They want €20 million for 100% of Fort’s rights. A clean, outright sale.
If a club cannot reach that figure, there is a second formula on the table: an offer in the region of €8–10 million in exchange for 50% of the player’s rights. That structure would allow Barcelona to cash in now while keeping a significant stake in Fort’s future.
Any club willing to meet one of those two options can move to the front of the queue.
Dortmund still ahead, but Sociedad won’t go away
Earlier in the window, Dortmund had almost a free run at the defender. They had identified Fort, moved quickly, and were closing in on the kind of agreement that usually gets completed without much noise.
Real Sociedad changed that dynamic.
The Basque side have been busy in the background, gathering detailed information on the terms of a potential deal and the exact conditions of Fort’s departure. They are no longer just monitoring the situation; they are a serious contender if the numbers fall within their reach.
Barcelona’s valuation has become the hinge on which the entire operation swings. Initial indications had placed Fort’s price at around €10 million, but Moretto’s latest update clarifies how the club actually want to structure the transfer.
A full sale? €20 million.
A shared bet on his future? €8–10 million for half of his rights.
The figures are clear now. The question is just as clear: who is prepared to pay Barcelona’s price for Héctor Fort, and who is willing to gamble on sharing his next step?
