Arsenal Pursues Yan Diomande Following Morgan Rogers Setback

After losing out on Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, Arsenal quickly shifted focus towards alternative attacking options to bolster their squad. The club has initiated an enquiry into RB Leipzig's promising winger, Yan Diomande, aiming to add speed and creativity to Mikel Arteta's frontline.

Early Stages of Interest for Yan Diomande

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal’s approach is described as an 'exploratory enquiry' rather than active negotiations. Paris Saint-Germain already hold a clear advantage, having agreed on a five-year contract with the Ivory Coast international.

RB Leipzig remain hopeful that Diomande will either renew his contract or stay another season. They reportedly value him at around 30 million (5 million). At 19, Diomande is versatile across the front line but prefers playing on the right wing to maximize his chances of regular appearances.

Arsenal’s Chances Appear Slim

From Arsenal’s perspective, this move looks more like due diligence. The main hurdle is Diomande’s preference for PSG, where personal terms are already settled. Convincing him to abandon that agreement would be challenging.

The player’s favored position on the right wing also contrasts with Arsenal’s greater need on the left side following their failure to sign Morgan Rogers. Despite this, Arsenal might still consider Diomande’s potential since Leipzig’s Marcel Schafer once praised him for his "outstanding speed, dribbling ability, athleticism, and finishing skills." Yet, all signs indicate PSG as the likely destination.

Unless PSG’s deal falls through or Diomande unexpectedly changes his mind, Arsenal may benefit from redirecting their efforts toward other left-wing targets better suited to Arteta’s current plans.
